Hi,
I stumbled by your site by mistake but it was
intresting reading the comments.I wanted to add to it
I have been born here in Dubai and frequently
travel, incidently we travel mostly by emirates I must
say in comparision to other airlines they are good but
yes I also noted a steady decline in the quality of
services rendered as the airline has become much more
commercialised.
There are times when the passengers are very
difficuilt and that invariably leads to
misunderstandings..but overall I still maintain that
Emirates has done a good job.
What did disturbe me though is the comment passed by
Kate Murray about Indians & Pakistani's which goes to
show her narrow minded, simplistic & small
thinking."highflyinkate" as her using name implies is
flying too high that she has lost her basic sense of
etiquette.Maybe she had to remove the brick size chip
off her shoulder before dishing out advise to others.
From the intricate way kate has discribed various
scenarios I would gather she is an airhostess who
loathes her job so way dosen't she get anothe one or
is white skin on her ass the only qualification she
possess.Apologies for my language but she asked for
it!Asians have made Dubai what it is today may it be
any feild just check the statistics for
proof.Incidently had kate two decent nickels to rub
togher she would be in her home country as considering
the exchange rate to that of the US$/Pound the pay
here is much lower.
Very strange to find someone possesing the stone age
mentality in this civilized era.
Regards,
Charmaine

To Whom It May Concern:

I had tried for several weeks now to obtain information on the status of my parent’s luggage with the airline carrier, Emirates Airlines. I have called and left several messages with Emirates Airlines, but I have had no response as of yet. At this point, my parent’s have given up hope of Emirates Airlines finding there bags, and would like to file a claim for there lost baggage. The only issue with that is the Emirates will not give us any answer on how to go about to file a claim for these lost bags. My parents were told in Dubai that any compensation for lost baggage would be thru the New York office.

I called the 1-800-777-3999 which is the only contact number listed on the their website, this number turned out to be the Emirates Airlines reservation line, then I was transferred to the main office in New York, from which I have not yet to receive a response after several messages.

Being that I seem to have exhausted all lines of communication with Emirates Airlines, I ask for your assistance in this matter. I would greatly appreciate any further information you can provide us.

FLIGHT SCHEDULE:
DL 0172 ATL TO JFK
DL 0082 JFK TO NCE
EK 0096 NCE TO DXB
EK 2837 DXB TO JED (FINAL DESTINATION FOR THE LUGGAGE WAS JED)

FILE CLAIM NUMBER:
JEDEK19747

BAGGAGE CLAIM NUMBER:
7 Baggage Claim Numbers were filed on this report, of which two bags are still missing

Bad Experience with Emirates Airlines

Came across your website purely by accident. Reviewed the no. of complaints and compliments about EMIRATES. I would just like to say, that as a regular traveller (business class) on a number of airlines, I would have to say that apart from Qantas, Emirates would probably be my second choice of airline. I have flown EMIRATES on several occasions, in coach and sometimes business and the service has been impeccable. Sure there have been delays (mainly for the safety of passengers due to weather conditions, or other reasons - better to be safe than sorry!), but I have had similiar experiences with several other airlines, including "lost baggage". Some things are just out of control of the airline.

And another thing, the flight attendants are there to attend to you, but NOT TO SERVE YOU!!! Please understand there is a difference. Passengers tend to get this notion that they have paid for their airfare, be it Coach, Business or First Class and they are intitled to WHATEVER THEY DEMAND - WRONG. You are obviously NOT a frequent flyer, and you need to consider the fact that whilst the flight attendants are there to provide a service, they are NOT YOUR SERVANTS AND NOT AVAILABLE TO YOUR EVERY DEMAND!!

I am a single mother with a 3 year old child who I have been travelling with since she was 6 months old and during that time, my daughter has always been my total responsibility. She is a fussy eater, so I pack food and milk and juices that she will like, be it a trip to Melbourne/Brisbane or to Malaysia or London. I carry enough supplies and allow for delays, as any sensible parent would do - because flights do get delayed for whatever reason, so if you are a responsible parent, you travel PREPARED. This also goes for nappies, change of clothes etc,

An example, I was flying to Auckland (on Emirates) but due to bad weather we were diverted to CHRISTCHURCH, where we sat on the runway for 6 hours. There was limited refreshments and food for passengers due to the unexpected weather, but my daughter had plenty due to the fact I had packed extra food, drink and always take aboard her favourite toys and some puzzles and books for her. This is not too hard to figure out. But I guess, I do have an added advantage where I consider my daughter's welfare when taking a trip - the worst that can happen is that you pack too much food/drink - so dump it at the airport.

Hopefully some of your inexperienced travellers with children - especially young children will learn from this email.

GO EMIRATES!! Love you and wish you all the success in the Pacific region.

Deborah Bryant
